The Foundation Is Laid. Now We Must Protect It.
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Dear beloved community,
With the help and mercy of Allah SWT, the first phase of construction at Masjid Khadeejah is complete, alhamdou lilah.
Phase one laid the foundation of the building and completed the basement shell. The work covered excavation, underground plumbing, compaction of the ground beneath the building, basement footings, basement walls, and the basement floor. The total cost of the foundation phase was $1.39 million, with $1.33M paid to the general contractor and $55,000 for engineering and architectural support. Every expense incurred has been paid in full.
That was your generosity. Thank you for what you gave to lay the foundation of Masjid Khadeejah. May Allah SWT accept it from you and reward you and your families manifold.
What We Need Urgently
A foundation left unprotected does not stay sound for long. Rainwater and snowmelt collect against the basement walls and seep into the foundation, eroding the structure and weakening what has already been built. If we leave it through a Colorado winter, we risk having to redo work that has already been paid for.
To prevent that, we must install a water drainage system and lay the sewer line that carries water away from the building into the city's main sewer. We urgently need $250,000 to complete this work and safeguard everything you have already given.
